General Notes: Husband - Alonzo Ryckman

His parents settled in Canada, going there from their native country of Germany. Alonzo removed from Canada to Pennsylvania, settling in Armstrong County, where he married. He and his family later removed to Canada, where they remained for some time, thence to New Derry, where his wife died; then to Armstrong county, where he again married, then to Westmoreland, where they were located when the civil war broke out. Alonzo Ryckman enlisted in the Second Pennsylvania Cavalry, serving with credit until he was taken a prisoner at the seven days battle before Richmond. He was first imprisoned at Andersonville, and was later transferred to Florence, South Carolina, where he died, about fifty years of age.
