General Notes: Husband - Joseph Hassler

His grandparents were of were of Swiss origin. They were probably born near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and moved at an early period to York County. Their remains reportedly lie in the old Reformed graveyard at York, Pennsylvania.

He and his wife moved from York County, Pennsylvania, and settled near St. Thomas, Franklin County, when their children were small.

She was distantly connected with Count Roemer of one of the cantons of Switzerland. He was the owner of vast landed estates in Germany and Switzerland.
