General Notes: Husband - George Vance Harsha
He remained on the farm until after the death of his father, and went to the country schools, but when about thirteen years old he accompanied his mother to Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He later engaged in the produce business for some years and then became a manufacturer of blankets, an industry he carried on until February, 1887, when his place was destroyed by fire. Following this he devoted his attention largely to handling and improving real estate. In 1896 he erected a handsome three-story brick building at Canonsburg, known as the Harsha Block, which was fitted up for stores and offices.
