General Notes: Husband - Squire John R. McJunkin
Clay Twp, Butler Co, PA
The boyhood days of John R. McJunkin were replete with trials, troubles and toil. Left without a father at the age of eight years, and being the eldest son at home, he was nominally the head of the household, and suc-ceeded to the estate of his father. The life of Mr. McJunkin was a successful one, not only in the accumulation of property, but in the building up of an honorable rec-ord. As a farmer, he was enterprising and progressive, and as a citizen he was appreciated for his integrity of character. He served his fellow-townsmen as Mag-istrate for four terms. He was a stanch Republican in politics, and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Muddy Creek. [HBC 1883, 410x]
