General Notes: Husband - John Huyett, Sr.
He came [from Maryland?] in 1795 to "Hart's Log Valley," Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, when eighteen years of age, to take possession of lands, then comparatively a wilderness, which his father had purchased for him, and which were deeded to Louis Huyett from William and Thomas Penn. He cleared out portions of his extensive lands and built a log cabin where "Stone Hall" would later stand, and close by a large and beautiful spring.
In 1812, "Stone Hall" was built, and there he and his wife lived until they died.
