General Notes: Husband - William Kennedy

Penn Twp, Butler Co, PA

When a young man he learned the trade of blacksmith, at which he worked for about twelve years. He then bought a farm and engaged in agricultural pursuits in which he continued until the spring of 1908. He had three producing oil wells on his property and for a number of years he was interested in oil and gas production. He was a Republican in politics, but was always averse to accepting township office, though frequently urged to do so. He was elected a justice of the peace, but declined to qualify. He was a member of Thorn Creek Methodist Episcopal Church, in which he held the office of trustee and class leader for many years.
