General Notes: Husband - Lewis Gongaware

He was born on the Gongaware homestead in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania. He attended the common schools in the neighborhood of his home, and remained on the home farm until the age of twenty-five. He then railroaded for a number of years, after which he alternately farmed and railroaded, residing at Radebaugh for over a quarter of a century. In 1903 he retired from active pursuits, having acquired a sufficient competency to allow him to pass his declining years in ease and comfort, and removed to Greensburg. He was a member of the Lutheran church and was a staunch adherent of the principles of Democracy.
