General Notes: Husband - William Hitchman
He was a native of Cecil county, Maryland. At the age of sixteen he enlisted under Captain Maxwell in a corps attached to the Maryland Line.
He removed from the "Old Dominion" to Redstone creek, in what is now Fayette County, Pennsylvania, which then was supposed to belong to Virginia. He soon removed from Fayette County to near Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, and became the founder of the Hitchman family in Westmoreland County.
He removed from his home in Virginia to Redstone Creek, in what is now Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and which was then supposed to belong to Virginia. After the close of the Revolutionary war he went to Maryland and there married. Shortly after his marriage he removed to Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he followed farming. He was a member of the Presbyterian church. [HWC 1906 II, 187]
