General Notes: Husband - Col. James Gibson

A resident of Virginia, he was colonel of the Second Virginia Regiment during the Revolutionary War, and about the time of the Whiskey Insurrection brought a regiment to the southwestern part of Pennsylvania. He came first to Pittsburgh, thence to Ginger Hill, where he was very favorably impressed with the country, and it was at his suggestion that his son James subsequently located in that locality. Col. Gibson lost an arm during that war, and his death occurred in Virginia. He was the father of four sons and three daughters.
