General Notes: Husband - Barnhardt E. Roessing


When sixteen years of age he entered his father's tannery and worked at that business until he was thirty-two years old, when he engaged in a related business with his father on Jefferson street in Butler, Pennsylvania. In 1888 he purchased another business place, on North Main street, where he manufactured harness and dealt in all classes of buggies, carriages, wagons and sleighs. He and wife were members of the Presbyterian church, and in politics, he was a Republican. He was connected with the Legion of Honor, of which he was commander, collector, and treasurer.
