General Notes: Husband - Amos Hixon


He was born in East Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, brought up on a farm, and attended the common schools of the township. In 1862 he removed to Fayette County, and located on a farm where he then resided; it contained 125 acres of moderate land, well improved.
He was a democrat, served several times as school director in his township, and as auditor, tax collector, supervisor, assessor and on the election board.
