She was probably born at or near Coote Hill, County Cavan, Ireland, and was ten years of age when she came to America. She was married at her father's home about 1808. She and her husband removed to a farm two miles west of Meadville, Pennsylvania, which they cleared and where they resided until their deaths. They were members of the Presbyterian church.
