General Notes: Husband - William K. McClenahen

He received his education in the public schools and was graduated from the high school at Milroy, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania. Until he had attained his majority he was engaged in farming, under the supervision of his father, then learned the carpenter's trade, with which he was occupied for a period of nine years. During this time he had also given his attention to a variety of other subjects, and in 1904 the firm of McClenahen Brothers was organized, and they undertook contracts for all kinds of plumbing, heating and electrical work. In February, 1909, the Belleville Electric Company was incorporated at Belleville, Pennsylvania, with Mr. McClenahen as president. He came to Belleville, in May, 1911, as general manager of the company. He was a staunch supporter of the Democratic party, but had no desire to hold public office.
