General Notes: Husband - Robert K. Flegal


He was eleven years old when he accompanied his parents to Goshen township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. The family had previously lived on the Matthew Read farm in Lawrence township, and prior to that in Bradford township and in the neighborhood of Madera. He followed farming and lumbering until 1899, when he sold his effects and moved to Clearfield, where his death followed some six years later. He was a Democrat in politics and served in local offices. He was a leading member of the Methodist Episcopal church, as his father had been before him.
