General Notes: Husband - William Enyeart

He began improvements about 1770 in the upper part of Juniata township, and partly in Penn township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. During the Revolution he sought protection in the fort at Standing Stone, and when no Indians were supposed to be about tilled his farm in company with a neighbor by the name of Reed, who improved an adjoining tract of land, one standing guard while the other worked. They several times barely escaped with their lives.

The original home in America of the Enyeart family was Virginia, where the immigrant ancestor settled. The first of the line of whom we find authentic record is William, soldier of the revolutionary war, who was a large land owner and farmer at Raystown Branch, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, cultivating land, part of which he had purchased from the government, the remainder being granted him for service in defense of the colonial cause.

He was several times married, having five children by the first wife and sixteen by the second.
