General Notes: Husband - George Eckert

He was a member of a family that for many generations was associated with the town of Ashaffenburg, Germany, his father having been born there, and there followed the calling of miller all his life.

He was born at his father's place, near Ashaffenburg, known in the region as Eckert's Mill, and grew to manhood there. He gained his education at the schools of Ashaffenburg, and after completing his studies took up his father's trade which he continued for some time. Eventually, however, he entered the brewing business and followed that during the remainder of his life with a high degree of success. He served for three years in the German army.
