General Notes: Husband - George Eckert

He received his education at the local schools of his native place. After completing his studies, he was apprenticed to a jeweler, under whom he learned that trade, which he followed as a journeyman for about three years and then came to the United States. Upon reaching America he made his way to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he remained, however, only about one year. For about three years following this he made his home in the town of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and still later resided in Latrobe. It was in the year 1890 that he came to Jeannette, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and there established himself in business. Besides his jewelry enterprise he also started a large automobile machine company which flourished and of which he was one of the directors. He was associated with the Crescent Brewing Company as its president and with the Union Deposit Bank as vice-president.
He was a staunch Republican and always upheld the principles and policies of his party. He was a member of Lodge No. 486, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Jeannette, and was a member of the Jeannette Board of Trade.

Notes: Marriage

The source states that they were married in 1873, but either this or his year of birth must be wrong.
