General Notes: Husband - Charles Emerson Eachel
He received his earlier education in the public schools of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, after which he took an extended course at the Commercial College of Beaver under Professor Pollock. His entire business career was identified with the typewriter industry. His first position was with the old Caligraph Company, in 1891, when he was seventeen years of age. Two years later he was in the employ of the United Typewriter and Supply Company which was organized at that time, and he remained with them until 1900. For a time he was with the Hammond Typewriter Company, then with the Wagner Typewriter Company, after which he formed a connection with the Underwood Typewriter Company, opening an office in Pittsburgh for them. In 1905 he went to London as assistant general manager of the company and took charge of the foreign department, returning to New York City in 1907. In 1911 he became associated with the Underwood Standard Adding Machine Company, of which he was vice-president, as general manager.
