General Notes: Husband - Isaac Johnson
He was a tanner by trade and was a member of the I. O. O. F.
His mother left her Virginia home to locate in Greene County, Pennsylvania, during his boyhood, and there he was reared, receiving such schooling as was afforded at that day in the public schools. There, too, (in Jefferson) he learned his trade, that of tanner. In 1834 he removed to Chalk Hill, Fayette County, where he was for a time employed as a tanner, and subsequently engaged in farming up to within a few years of his decease, his declining years being passed near Uniontown.
