General Notes: Husband - Davenport Galbraith
He was graduated at Yale University, in 1884, with the degree of Bachelor of Science, and then matriculated in the law department of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was graduated as a member of the class of 1887 and from which he received the degree of Bachelor of Laws. After his admission to the bar of his native state he became associated with his father in the practice of his profession. After a few years, however, he virtually withdrew from this connection as another field of activity offered special attractions to him. He thus became one of the organizers and incorporators of the Erie Dime Savings & Trust Company, of which he was vice-president from the inception until the institution was reorganized under his direction, as the Erie Trust Company, of which he then served as vice-president. He gave the major portion of his time and attention to the building up of this stanch and popular institution, and its success from the start was in large degree due to his able executive policy and unflagging attention to its affairs. He enjoyed unequivocal popularity in the business and social circles of his native city, was independent in politics and was identified with the Erie, the Kahkwa, the Yacht and the Golf Clubs.
