General Notes: Husband - Alexander Reynolds

He, in company with Mr. Ritchey, built Red Bank Furnace, in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. It was located about eight miles above the mouth of Redbank Creek. He afterwards became a partner in Red Bank Furnace, in Clarion County. He was a substantial business man, and thoroughly understood the manufacture of iron, and the management of furnaces. [HCC 1887, 654]

At one time he was an iron manufacturer and banker of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; purchased the residence of Dr. John Gilpin, on the site of the old fort at Kittanning, and had his home there at the time of his death. The place was inherited by his son Alexander, who made additions to the old mansion and called it the "Alexander Hotel."
