General Notes: Husband - Washington Wilfred Fetterman

He was admitted to the bar in 1822, and was very prominent not only in Pittsburgh, but throughout western Pennsylvania. He became a convert to the Catholic faith after his marriage, and donated the site of old St. Paul's Cathedral on Fifth avenue, Pittsburgh. He owned from two to four thousand acres of land in West Virginia, and founded the town of Fetterman in that state.

He and his wife had two daughters and three sons.

The Marquis de Lafayette stood sponsor for his son Gilbert in baptism, on the occasion of that man's visit to the city.

General Notes: Wife - Sarah de Bulan

She was a granddaughter of Baron de Bulan, who, until the death of Joseph the Second of Austria, was ambassador to the United States.
