General Notes: Husband - Philip Gelbach

He came with his parents to the United States in 1830. He grew to manhood on the homestead in Forward township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and received a meager education in the pioneer log schools of that locality. He afterwards purchased a farm adjoining his father's farm, consisting of 160 acres. He continued to farm until he arrived at old age, when he retired to Evans City. Politically, he was a Democrat, and filled many of the township offices. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical church of Evans City, and gave liberally of his means towards the erection of the church building. He was an elder and trustee of that church for many years.

General Notes: Wife - Sophia Dambach

She was a child when her family emigrated to the United States and settled in Butler County, Pennsylvania.
She died at the age of eighty-four years.
