General Notes: Husband - John Culbertson

He is found on the Census of 1790 in Southhampton Twp., Franklin Co., PA, given males over 16 yrs. one (self), males under 16, five, females, including wife 4.
Some family records give wife's name as Mary. This is wrong unless he married twice.
He made his will in Erie Co., PA, in 1816.

The first of this family to settle in Erie County, Pennsylvania, was John, who, in 1799, took up 400 acres of land, but his title was not clear, the land also being claimed by a Mr. Fisher. The matter was settled by Mr. Culbertson taking a deed for 150 acres.
