Menallen Twp, Fayette Co, PA - a farmer

He was educated in the common schools of Fayette County, Pennsylvania. After leaving school he engaged in farming, which vocation he followed with success.
He owned a farm of one hundred and fifty-four acres in a high state of cultivation, where he resided beginning in 1876. He was a member of the Jr. O. U. A. M., and was a member of the M. E. church for many years.

He and his wife were the parents of nine children.
