General Notes: Husband - John Emhuff

He was a child of but eight years of age at the time of his parents' emigration. He served Mr. McLooset, a brewer in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, for twelve years in order to pay his passage over to this country. The morning he was free his father came after him and together they went to Clarion County, where he became interested in farming operations. He was a member of the Lutheran Reformed church.
