General Notes: Husband - John Emhuff

He was born and reared in Switzerland, where he resided until middle life, and where he was a silk weaver by trade. In 1805 with his family he emigrated to America and located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he learned the butcher business, with which line of enterprise he was identified for a good many years. Later in life he turned his attention to farming and was the owner of a fine estate in the close vicinity of Clarion, Pennsylvania.
