General Notes: Husband - John Schwartz

He had only a common school education, but he was a able business man; in early life he engaged in milling on Beaver Creek, in Paradise Township, York County, Pennsylvania, but sold his mill in the spring of 1831 and came to Conowago Township, Adams County, where he bought between 300 and 400 acres of land.

He learned the miller's trade, which he followed many years very successfully south of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, being an industrious man. He eventually bought 400 acres of land in Conowago Township, Adams County, in 1831, and there he and his wife died on the old homestead.

He died when nearly eighty years of age.

Of his nine children, seven reached maturity and four were still living in 1886.

General Notes: Wife - Barbara Copenhafer

She died on the family homestead, aged eighty-two years and ten months.
