General Notes: Husband - Squire George Johnston


He was the owner of a large property, consisting of thirteen farms, three of which were located in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and after him were owned by his daughter Elizabeth.

He was a Democrat, and served as justice of the peace for many years, first being appointed by the governor, but later elected by the people.
The Johnstons were members of Rocky and Middle Spring Presbyterian Church.

Another source states that he died in 1881 at age 84.
