General Notes: Husband - Isaac Philips


He was educated in the common schools of the day, and learned the trade of a tailor. In 1826 he located in Sheakleyville, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and conducted that business until 1853, when he was elected justice of the peace for the borough, and filled that office for twenty-five years, giving his time and attention to the duties of that office. He was also a deacon of the Georgetown Baptist church for over forty years.
He and his wife had eleven children, eight of these reached maturity, five were still living in 1909.
