General Notes: Husband - Frank Weldon Findley

After completing his education, he worked on the home farm until 1876, when he left for California and was there employed as a lineman in the telegraph service. In 1891 he returned to the old Findley homestead. "Maple Spring Farm" was one of the most picturesque homesteads in the county, the noble row of maple trees which gave it its name was planted by his father, about 1859. Not far away was a grove of splendid pines, the only trees of this variety for many miles around. Running through the entire tract of rolling and wooded land was a beautiful living spring. "Maple Spring Farm" was not only beautiful in appearance but was valuable in many ways as it was not only fertile but underlying it was a stone quarry of four acres. [HMC 1909, 981]
