General Notes: Husband - William Koon


He offered his services to the cause of independence, but was too young to bear arms and became a teamster. He was captured by the British, who in their haste cut the traces and took the horses and left the loaded wagon.
He was among the early pioneers of Pymatuning Township in Mercer County, PA, whither he had removed from the western part of Montgomery County.
He was taken prisoner in the War of 1812, and held as such for some time.
