General Notes: Husband - John Cameron

He received the ordinary education of the public schools of the town, and at an early age apprenticed to the trade of a tailor. He came to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, in 1816, where he started in business. Governor Shulze appointed him register and recorder of the county of Dauphin, Jan. 17, 1824. He was frequently chosen member of the Borough Council of Harrisburg. He subsequently engaged in merchandising, dealt largely in cattle, and became interested in the through stage lines. In 1837 he removed to Lancaster, retired from business, and died there.
