General Notes: Husband - James D. Budd

He was born on the old Budd homestead, located on what became the site of the Carver house. He received his education in Sharon, Pennsylvania, and Brookfield, Ohio, worked on the paternal farm until he was seventeen years of age, when he commenced to learn the carpenter's trade. As his business expanded he began to take contracts for entire buildings, and for many years prior to 1904 continued in that field with success and profit. In that year he retired with a competency and an unblemished reputation for superior workmanship and integrity. He was a Democrat in politics, and for more than half a century was prominent in the fraternal work of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, being specially identified with Sharon Lodge No. 327, of which he was past noble grand.
