General Notes: Husband - John Sutton

He was raised and educated in New Jersey and learned the carpenter and cabinet-making trades. He came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in the year 1812, and located at Budd's Ferry, where he worked at his trades.
After moving, he located at the Deep Cut, Rostraver township, Westmoreland County, where he continued to labor at his trades. He had five children, three sons and two daughters. About the year 1824 he purchased a farm in Elizabeth township, Allegheny County, where he moved during the same year, at the same time quitting his trades, devoting his whole time to farming and stock-raising. By industry and economy he accumulated wealth, investing in lands, and at his death possessed several hundred acres of land and a considerable amount of money.

He was a native of England and immigrated to America, settling near West Newton, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. [BHCWC, 381]
