General Notes: Husband - Daniel Cort, Jr.

He was founder of the town of Zwingle, Dubuque County, IA, and father of the Reformed church in that place. As a member of the Iowa legislature he played a prominent part in the suppression of legislation in favor of the railroads, whereby charters for operation for all time, at a fixed and nominal rate of taxation, would have been granted to four trunk lines.
