General Notes: Husband - James Blackstone

He purchased 200 acres of land in Lackawannock Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, at a sheriff's sale, which was afterward sold to secure back taxes, and he made a second purchase. Here he and his wife lived until death. They were of Scotch-Irish descent, and members of the Presbyterian Church, and he was a Democrat. [HMC 1888, 879]
Married soon after attaining his majority, he lived for about two years in Mercer, working at various employments. Settling then on the tract of timbered land which his father had purchased in Lackawannock Township, he erected a log house in the wilderness, and at once began the improvement of the land. He succeeded in his efforts, cultivating the land with good results, and in course of time made a frame addition to his house. In this he resided until his death. [HMC 1909, 899]
He served as county collector.

General Notes: Wife - Nancy Waugh

Other sources give her year of death as 1871.
