General Notes: Husband - Samuel Black

near Irwin, Westmoreland Co, PA

The Black family came from the north of Ireland about the same time as the McCormicks [1788], settling in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.

He was by occupation a farmer and for many years served as elder in the Long Run Presbyterian church.

He and his wife had fifteen children; three died in infancy.
