General Notes: Husband - Dr. Samuel M. King


In 1820, he came from Fayette County, Pennsylvania, to Monongahela City, where he practiced his profession till his death.

He received a thorough education at Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He studied medicine at Greensburg, with Drs. Marchand and Postlewaite, and graduated at the University of Pennsylvania. He settled in Williamsport, now Monongahela City, in 1815 and commenced the practice of his profession.

He was educated at Jefferson College, and graduated from the Medical Department of the University of Pennsylvania. He immediately thereafter began the practice of his profession at Monongahela City, and continued the same there and elsewhere in Washington county for about fifty years. He won eminence in his profession by his intelligence, skill and industry. Both he and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church.

He and his wife had thirteen children.
