General Notes: Husband - James Sprott Taylor

He left Iowa in 1859 in company with W. H. Billaps and family and crossed the plains with an ox team, taking six months to make the trip. He was one of the oldest pioneers of Whitman County, Washington. He went to Colfax, Washington, in 1871. He was elected sheriff of Whitman County in 1874 and always took an active part in politics.
