He inherited from his father a farm, later occupied by his grandson, Amos Buzzard, but when a middle-aged man he moved to Fremont, Ohio, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was accompanied by all his children with the exception of Jacob, who chose to stay at Buzzardstown.
