General Notes: Husband - Darius Townsend

He and his brother Levi went to California in the time of the gold fever. They carried letters from Mrs. John Geary to her son, John W. Geary, afterwards Governor of Pennsylvania. Levi died on shipboard on their outward passage, and Darius, after a residence of three years in California, went to Mexico, where he died.
