General Notes: Husband - Isaac Townsend

---

He was born on the farm near Salina, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, but in 1833, he went to Westmoreland County and purchased the farm on which Vandergrift now stands. Later he purchased the Speers farm adjoining his, thus making his farm one of about two hundred acres. He spent the remainder of his life on this farm, cultivating it diligently, and died there in his seventy-ninth year.
