General Notes: Husband - Andrew Jackson Stouffer


He served in the Philippine war under Colonel Hawkins, in the Tenth Pennsylvania Volunteers, and was honorably discharged August 22, 1899. He returned to his home in Hempfield township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and re-enlisted in Company I, Forty-seventh Regiment, Colonel Howe, commanding, September 19, 1899. He was again honorably discharged, at Presidio, San Francisco, California, March 22, 1901. He made another trip to the Philippine Islands, and worked there as a team driver for one year, returning to his home in Pennsylvania at the end of this time and settling there.
