General Notes: Husband - Ninian Beall

The Bealls were among the early settlers of Baltimore County, Maryland, and he and his wife both came from Baltimore. He was a soldier in the early war, and his wife was a sister of Gen. Stricker, who so ably defended Baltimore against the British in 1814. They came West about 178-, and purchased a farm on the edge of West Virginia, near Independence, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where they raised a large family, whose descendants became widely scattered both east and west, though many of them located in Washington County, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and eastern Ohio.

The Pioneer American of the Beall family was Ninian Beall, who came from St. Ninian Parish, Ireland, to Maryland, in 1652, and became the military leader of the Province. He was instrumental in founding the first Presbyterian Church in the Colony. His great-grandson, Ninian Beall (3rd), married Mary Stricker.
