General Notes: Husband - David Smith

His grandfather was the immigrant ancestor of this family in America. He came originally from Germany in pre-Revolutionary times and settled in Pennsylvania. He served in the Continental Army during that historic struggle, and afterwards removed to Westmoreland County, then practically a wilderness, and made his home where now the town of Arona stands. Here he eventually died and was buried in the old Harrolds Cemetery.

He lived in the old family home near Arona, and was prominent in affairs there. Like the original ancestor he died there and was buried in Harrolds Cemetery after a long life of eighty-four years.
