General Notes: Husband - Edward Woodward


He obtained from his father, one hundred acres in Thornbury by deed dated December 10th, 1698, to which he added one hundred acres more by purchase from John Simcock 12th month 23d, 1702-3. By deed of May 30th, 1704, he sold the two hundred acres to Philip Taylor, late of Middletown, which was then Edward's residence, and on the same date purchased from Thomas Taylor, brother of Philip, the same number of acres in Middletown, near the southern end of the township.


General Notes: Wife - Alice Smedley


By the will of her first husband, she became possessed of two tracts of land in Newtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, containing one hundred and twenty-eight acres and forty-five and one-half acres. By deeds of September 25th, 1733, Edward and Alice conveyed this land to John Williamson, who immediately reconveyed it to them again. There they settled and became members of Newtown particular meeting.
