He served two years in the United States Marines and was stationed at Norfolk Navy Base. He worked as a mechanic and moved his family back to Titusville, PA, where he worked for Dunn's Equipment Co., Sanford Equipment Co. and various garages. He and Marie seperated and he took the 3 children and moved to Yakima, WA.
