General Notes: Husband - James Emory Pelton


He obtained his preparatory education in the public schools, then entered Grove City College, attending two terms, working his own way through. After completing his studies he taught for seven years in Freehold township, Warren County, Pennsylvania, having schools at Lottsville, Bear Lake, Pine Grove, Bailey Hill, and other places. In the spring of 1902 he purchased a farm of sixty-seven acres from his father-in-law, John T. Thorpe, and thereafter was engaged in farming. He was a Republican in politics, and held the office of township auditor. He was a member of Lottsville Lodge, No. 631, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and passed all the chairs in regular succession.

She was educated in the public school, United Brethren Seminary, Sugargrove, and taught prior to her marriage in Freehold and Deerfield townships of Warren County, Pennsylvania.
