General Notes: Husband - John Patterson

He was one of six brothers, coming from Ireland in 1750, and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on the Delaware, on adjoining farms. When he died, the family sold the homestead, and in 1791 his son, John, commenced merchandising in Tuscarora Valley, in the vicinity of Academia, there being no store nearer than Carlisle.

He was the father of six children, John being the eldest.
